Do you struggle with consistency when it comes to reading the Word? If I’m being completely honest, I have ☝🏼 And though I strive to get into my Bible daily, there are still times I put something else first. I allow distractions to take priority (ex: Netflix, IG, running errands, etc.)
What I’ve learned is that when this does happen, we can’t get discouraged. We can’t throw in the towel and say that we’re incapable of being consistent and lose all accountability. We also shouldn’t feel shame and guilt. Conviction, yes, but not shame and guilt. That’s not from the Lord.
I’ve been learning so much from the @thedailygraceco podcast about the importance of theology and seeking God in His Word. I have been so encouraged by the authentic and relateable conversations on the show.
The most important thing I’ve learned in my faith journey is that we need to approach our Bible study not as a task to be checked off our to-do list. We’ll never be deeply rooted in the Word if that’s the case. We have to WANT to KNOW God. When we’re reading our Bible, we should be seeking to learn the characteristics of God. The more eager we are to know Him and desire the time we have with Him, the more we’ll prioritize our time in the Word. It’s truly amazing! 💗
How do you stay on track with staying in the Word? I’d love to know! 😊
