And just like that, it’s 2021! I’m a little late to the game on new year resolutions, but that’s ok because I’m not really one to actually make new year resolutions. I never seem to be able to actually commit to them. Too much pressure – anyone else feel that way? No, just me? Lol
What I like to do in preparation for the new year is to create a vision board. Vision boards are usually covered in different words and images that are meant to help you to actually visualize what your dreams and goals are. I prefer to create a digital vision board. Not only is this an affordable and practical way to get creative, but it’s also very motivating!
Vision board creating is also a great way to connect with your husband. That’s right, get him involved in this too (and your kids)! The very first thing we do when we’re preparing our digital vision board is to think of a word for the year that we want to help guide and motivate us – a theme if you will. Last year our word was “Refreshed.” Little did we know how much extra time we would have to be refreshed thanks to COVID-19!
This year, we have chosen the phrase “Be Bold.” We chose this because we feel strongly that we are living in a time where it’s necessary for us to live boldly. This applies to our faith, to our values, to our worldview, and to our personal goals.
“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”
1 Corinthians 16:13 (NIV).
I like to create my vision board using canva.com because it’s easy and there are tons of free fonts, stickers, images, backgrounds, etc. to really personalize your vision board with and bring to life. I also use Pinterest, of course, for images. (Are you following me on Pinterest @thesavvymavenblog, by the way? If not, you should. I pin a lot. Shameless plug. Lol)
Here’s how our vision board turned out. It was so fun to put together! Now, I will hang it on our fridge. You can also frame it (Hobby Lobby and Michael’s always have sales on frames and they’re pretty too) or hang it up in your workspace so you can see it every day. 🙂

I’d love to see your digital vision boards. Tag me on Instagram with the hashtag #thesavvymavenblog with your creations!
